The Application: V4100HT on a Critical Cement Kiln Riser Duct
The challenge was clear. We needed to install an air cannon solution that was robust enough to withstand continuous high temperatures. Furthermore, it had to be powerful enough to prevent any build-up from accumulating in the volatile kiln environment.
The Setup:
Product: Vortex Blastair® V4100HT High-Temperature Air Cannon.
Key Feature: It is fitted with a specialized refractory straight nozzle. This ensures maximum blast energy transfer while protecting the system from extreme radiant heat and abrasion.
Location: The unit is installed directly on a cement kiln riser duct.
The Proof: Infrared Imaging Doesn't Lie
The true measure of a successful air cannon is its ability to maintain a consistent internal temperature. This consistency means no build-up is present. Specifically, build-up acts as an insulator, creating a “cold point” on the external shell of the duct. Thermal imaging can easily identify this cold point.
Analyzing the Thermal Image:
- Scenario: An infrared/visible image view was taken of the V4100HT and the riser duct after one full year of operation.
- The Result (See Image Below): The thermal image shows a consistent, high temperature (in the range of 384°C to over 401°C) across the area in front of the V4100HT blaster.
- The Conclusion: No cold point display! The entire area is uniformly hot. Consequently, this proves definitively that there is no build-up accumulation inside the duct. ✅Operating Correctly for 1 Year: This data confirms the Vortex Blastair® V4100HT is operating correctly. In fact, it has successfully avoided any build-up for 12 months, maximizing the plant’s operational uptime.
